Web-Colour FAQ
- What is Web-Colour?
Web-Colour is a little program that allows you to visually generate
those HTML colour codes.
- How much does it cost?
Nothing at all! It's absolutely free! Although, if in the
kindness of your heart, you see fit to give some cash to a starving
university student, I'll take whatever you give me :-)
- What will it run on?
It will run on anything that will run Windows 3.1 programs. You
will need the Visual Basic run-time library: VB40016.DLL. Check your \WINDOWS
and \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directories for it. If you don't have it, you
can get it somewhere on Simtel.
- Why did you write it?
When I first started making Web pages, I couldn't find anything that
would do what I wanted. Therefore, I made my own.
- Will it ever do the whole body tag?
Probably not, if you're smart enough to do your HTML by hand, you can do the
whole body tag. Besides, with Netscape's <FONT COLOR=> tag, it would be
a real pain to extract the code you want from the whole tag.
- Will there be a 32 bit version?
YES! That's what I'm working on next.
- What will you be doing next?
After releasing the 32-bit version, I might do a JavaScript version of Web-Colour
called "Live-Colour". After that, I'll be re-writing Web-Colour in a language that
doesn't require as many run-time files (probably C++).
- Hey! You spelled Color wrong!
No, I spelled it correctly. Since I am a Canadian citizen, I will spell
colour the Canadian way, with the U. If I ever do release a
version with multiple language support, I will make an American version
without using the letter U at all. Yes, I am being sarcastic.
- I have a question that's not in the FAQ. What do I do?
Don't be afraid to ask me any questions no matter how silly they might sound.
If the answer could be of general interest to others, I will include it
in the FAQ.
